During this interactive session, participants will explore and apply writing strategies that are part of the BASE Instructional Model for Culturally Responsive Teaching. These strategies bridge and connect social and academic language in the context of students’ own culture and prior knowledge. Participants will learn about the BASE model and will receive strategies for meaningful and authentic writing that they can implement immediately in the classroom.

Audience: classroom teachers, campus and district administrators
